Properly Putting on the Mask
POINT OF EMPHASIS:
To successfully complete this particular training tip, the umpire must have mastered "Holding the Mask and Indicator" training tip.
Properly holding the mask with your left hand, grab the center of the back straps and pull up. This allows the straps to be out of the way when the mask is being put on over your hat.
Making sure the elastic back straps are still pulled up, place the top pad of the mask over / above the hat bill and against the top portion of the hat. The bottom pads should be touching the chin firmly.
Once the bottom pads are comfortably placed on the chin and top pads are placed on the portion part of the hat, pull straps over and down the back of the head.
Once the mask is in place, make the proper adjustments that allows comfort and more importantly a clear view for vision
