Arizona Umpiring Academy

The primary purpose for creating the Arizona Umpiring Academy is to provide umpires, no matter the level of experience, a second-to-none comprehensive training program at an affordable cost. We believe that quality training produces quality umpires. An objective of the Academy is to help build each umpire's competency level. Competence increases confidence. For an umpire to be successful, we believe he/she must possess these two characteristics. We look forward to training with each umpire dedicated enough to make the sacrifice to improve their ability as an umpire.
	Our mission is to provide quality training for all umpires utilizing the most comprehensive teaching methods available. The Arizona Umpiring Academy teaches the "HOWS", but more importantly the "WHYS". The Arizona Umpiring Academy takes pride in recruiting umpires with an excellent reputation who are qualified to instruct their peers. The Academy also holds to the high standard that each instructor must be a better educator. The Arizona Umpiring Academy is designed for both the beginner and the experienced umpire. Our umpire instruction is easily understood and simple to implement.
Our goal is to provide training that encourages fraternal and educational attributes for all baseball umpires; to advocate and strive for standardized application of rules, strike zone philosophies, handling non-routine situations, and umpiring mechanics. Umpires who desire to improve their skills and enhance their opportunity to advance are encouraged to attend.
