Mark in 2001 retired from Revlon with 25 years manufacturing / operations in a Market Driven Consumer Products Company

1995 Mark started assigning elementary and freshman high school programs

1995-2002 Mark was a high school baseball instructor and state association vice-president of umpires

Incorporated CSUA in August 2000 with less than 25 umpires

2003 CSUA surpassed 4000 games assigned (Little Leagues / Tournament Baseball / Selected High School)

2004 was a growth year and starting assigning Connie Mack (AABC), American Legion, City Government, 10 Little Leagues, Men's Senior Baseball, MLB Fantasy Camps, and Showcase Tournaments

2005 Mark was appointed Acting State Director/Commissioner of Connie Mack Baseball

2005 CSUA was assigning over 8,000 baseball games

2005 Mark opened and operated Gerry Davis Sports Arizona Equipment for officials/referees that is endorsed by State Association (Arizona Interscholastic Association-High School) as preferred vendor for officials/referees equipment

CSUA uses Arbiter Net-Web based scheduling that has global capacity

Advanced notification of tournaments / locations for the year that is posted on umpires web based home page

Calculate resources (minimum 6 weeks out on all tournaments)

Site contacts in place at all tournaments to insure attendance and tournament flow

Published 15 points Code of Conduct

Today's youth tournaments require properly trained umpires to manage the game in the best interest of everyone participating. CSUA is committed to redirecting it's training to handle confrontations that arise during youth events with continued success


Mark added the training body (founded and incorporated, with Steve Mattingly, the Arizona Umpiring Academy in December 2001)

Training body consists of High School umpires, NCAA umpires, former and present minor league umpires, and selected Major League Umpires

Vision was to create standardization for umpires and build umpiring excellence

Mark was selected to umpire the 2001 and 2002 NJCAA World Series

2006 Hosted Connie Mack Regional

2007 Mark was appointed State Director / Commissioner AABA/AABC, Connie Mack, Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax

2007 Mark launched grass roots effort for Mickey Mantle/Sandy Koufax baseball

Mark was able to successfully negotiated 2008 American Legion Regional bid

CSUA provides umpiring assigning services to 16 Little Leagues-Minors through Seniors, Babe Ruth, High School Spring Tournament, Showcase Baseball, over 37 Tournaments annually, American Legion, American Legion State Tournament, 2008 American Legion Regional, AABC, Connie Mack-Mickey Mantle-Sandy Koufax State Tournaments, Connie Mack World Series Qualifier, 2008 Sandy Koufax World Series, Men's Senior Baseball, Variety of Charity Events, 3 MLB Fantasy Camps

2007 Assigned nearly 12,500 baseball games

CSUA has over 80 customers, 300 umpires, and over 400 contacts in all levels of baseball

CSUA donates 7 scholarships annually to the Arizona Umpiring Academy from baseball customers to support continued umpiring excellence (training)

CSUA has a strong recruiting plan, superior training program, and a mentor program that promotes a progressive growth cycle

MLB umpire, Ted Barrett, giving one-on-one instruction on the hows and whys umpires do what they do.
