BESIDES THE TRAINING, WHAT DO I RECEIVE FOR THE COST?


During training, the umpire receives immediate feedback in the video station of their plate work. An instructor is at the station to assist the umpire.

WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?


Former AAA/MLB umpire, Mike Jost, (left) and former AAA/ Lead Instructor at Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring, Steve Mattingly, training daily with you to maximize each umpire's ability.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

These are only recommendations. The Arizona Umpiring Academy realizes not all umpires / students have all these items listed. Proud sponsor Gerry Davis Sports-Arizona (Umpire apparel) will be on site to satisfy your umpiring equipment needs.



  • PERSONAL TRAVEL ITEMS THAT WILL ACCOMMODATE 3 TO 4 DAYS TRAVEL.
  • UMPIRE BASE GEAR THAT INCLUDES:
    • Gray Base Pants
    • Black or Navy Blue Belt
    • Athletic Black Base Shoes
    • Black Socks
    • Extra Navy Blue T-Shirts
    • Pull-Over Base Jacket (If weather permits)
    • NOTE: Base polo shirts will not be needed
  • UMPIRE PLATE GEAR THAT INCLUDES:
    • Mask
    • Indicator
    • Plate Brush
    • Chest Protector
    • Shin Guards
    • NOTE: Plate pants, plate shoes and ball bags will not be needed.

HOW MUCH DOES THE CLINIC COST?
  • THE TOTAL CLINIC COST IS $325.00
  • A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $100.00 IS DUE ON OR BEFORE January 1, 2008.
  • THE BALANCE IS DUE ANYTIME PRIOR TO January 1, 2009, OR ARRIVAL AT SITE ON January 23, 2009.
  • CHECK - CASH - MONEY ORDER WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION FOR ANY BALANCE DUE.
